History

Thanks to more than 30 years experience we have wide-ranging expertise and vast experience in engineering and manufacturing of all commonly-used materials.

A short summary of our history:

Formation (1999)

Witec was founded by Bernard Winkel and came into being following the acquisition of a department of Philips Stadskanaal.

Merger (2006)

Witec merged with Witronic, thereby becoming a producer of inductive systems and precision mechanical parts.

Acquisition of Wijdeven (2008)

Witec acquired market leader Wijdeven. The result was a company with expertise in inductive systems, linear motors and precision mechanical parts.

Acquisition by Raimon en Eric (2010)

The shares in Witec were acquired by Raimon Warta and Eric Vos.

Acquisition of Schramifa (2010)

Equipment manufacturer Schramifa was acquired.

Growth (2010-2018)

Witec grew from 15 to 75 employees between the end of 2010 and the end of 2018. Turnover increased over the same period, from 1.5m to 8m euro.

Relocation (2018)

Witec relocated in 2018 to a new premises in Stadskanaal.

Groningen Enterprise of the Year (2019)

In November 2019, Witec was elected Groningen enterprise of the year. Witec may use this title until November 2021.

Growth (2019-2022)

From 2019, Witec grows by an average of 30% per year. In addition to the new location of 2018, Witec has moved into three other properties in the immediate vicinity and attracted 50 additional employees to enable constant growth.
